All About Ed

Currently, I am in rehearsal with The Complete Theatre Company in their upcoming production, “Special Skills Variety Show”, which will be performed November 12th, 2011 at the Kraine Theatre, NYC.

My formal training in the performing arts began in the mid 1980’s when I studied with William (Bill) Hickey at HB Studio. Late 2008, I studied monologue technique and scene study for 18 months with Jim Bonney, who ironically studied with Bill about the same time I did. Over the past year, I’ve been taking voice-over lessons from Rudy Gaskins and Joan Baker, and voice training lessons from Lynda Sharman.

The New York City Metropolitan Area is so rich with artistic talent, especially in the medium of film. Since early 2010, I have had the privilege and pleasure of working in front of the camera with some of the finest young, up-and-coming filmmakers. One of my biggest thrills in life is to entertain people and I actively seek collaborations with likeminded performing artists.

When entering the ‘golden years’, one can easily lapse into a mostly reclined position on a couch or in a rocking chair. That’s not for me. Along with acting, I stay active by: exercising in a gym with weights; walking in parks and beaches; practicing Qigong, practicing meditation. Last but not least, I enjoy painting animal portraits using the medium of acrylic on canvas.
